I had Thai food Friday night with a friend. It was take-out, a fifteen minute walk to her house. It was still a little warm when we ate it.

We dined on the rooftop of her building and looked out upon the city. We saw a murder of crows fly over the harbour. Her young daughter ate the food with her hands, and we were both given to remark how neither of us had such exotic diets as children.

Later, we had a conversation that lasted for hours.
